My Vision for Medford's Schools
I am running for the Medford School Board because I believe in:
Expanding and Strengthening Curriculum
Our students need more than just the basics. Financial literacy, media and technology literacy, civic education, climate science, and communication skills are essential for today’s world. We must prepare students not just for standardized tests but for lifelong success.
Keeping Education Free from Political Censorship
Book bans and politically motivated restrictions on curriculum do not serve students well. As a former journalist, I know the value of access to information and critical thinking. Our schools should be places where students can explore ideas freely, engage in meaningful discussions, and form their own informed opinions.
Supporting Our Teachers
Teachers are professionals, and they know what their students need to succeed. We must listen to them. I will advocate for policies that are driven by research and best practices—not politics—and ensure that our educators have the support, resources, and respect they deserve.
Fostering Hands-On, Project-Based Learning
Education should engage students, not just test them. I believe in real-world, community-based learning that prepares students for the challenges and opportunities ahead.
